Grocery lovers on the West Side, you’re in for a fresh update.
Local grocer Fresh St. Market is set to expand with a second Vancouver location – this time in Kitsilano.
We spotted signage confirming that the BC-based chain will be opening on the ground floor of Kitsilano Block, a new mixed-use development at the corner of West 4th Avenue and Macdonald Street.

According to the signs posted outside the site, the market is expected to open in late 2025.
If you’re unfamiliar, Fresh St. Market is known for its farmers’ market-inspired shopping experience.
Think fresh BC produce, organic options, curated local goods, and artisan bakery selections all under one roof.
It’s the kind of place where you can pick up your groceries and also discover something new from a small Canadian producer you didn’t know existed.
The brand was founded in 2013 by Georgia Main Food Group, the same folks behind IGA. Since then, it’s grown to 8 locations across BC, with its Downtown Vancouver House location being the only one within city limits—until now.
This upcoming Kitsilano outpost will make it their second Vancouver location, giving West Side residents a much more convenient option without the bridge or downtown traffic.
The Fresh St. mission goes beyond just selling food.
They emphasize partnerships with Canadian producers, aiming to support local businesses and families while delivering top-tier freshness and quality.
Fresh St. Market’s arrival comes at a time of noticeable change in Vancouver’s grocery scene.
PriceSmart Foods recently took over the Nester’s Market in Mount Pleasant and a Buy Low Foods in Edmonds.
Over in South Burnaby, Hannam Supermarket just opened its first outpost as well.
So far, there’s no word yet on what features or layout this Kitsilano location might have.
But if it’s anything like its other stores, expect a blend of modern design, local-first products, and a strong focus on fresh, seasonal foods.
