Popular Hot Pot Chain Haidilao Secretly Launches a Takeout Pasta Shop in Richmond

It looks like Haidilao has done it again.

The popular Chinese hot pot chain, known worldwide for its noodle dances, nail services, and wild in-store experiences, has quietly launched yet another unexpected concept in Metro Vancouver.

This time, itโ€™s not hot pot, malatang, or anything remotely broth-related…itโ€™s pasta.

Recently spotted by users on Chinese social media, a new Uber Eats listing called Haidilao Pasta Express popped up, leaving people wondering if it was real or just another internet hoax.

After a quick call to Haidilaoโ€™s Richmond branch, the rumors were confirmed: itโ€™s 100% real.

According to staff, Haidilao Pasta Express has been operating for the past two months, exclusively for takeout and delivery.

Itโ€™s the latest experimental project from the brand, which has never been afraid to try something completely different.

The virtual pasta shop operates out of the Richmond Haidilao location and features a full lineup of Italian-style dishes.

The menu includes staples like Bolognese, Alfredo with chicken, Marinara, and Vongole pasta made with clams and white wine.

Each dish ranges from $19.95 to $23.95 and is currently offered with a buy-one-get-one-free promotion at the time of publishing.

In addition to pasta, Haidilao Pasta Express offers a handful of side snacks that give a nod to the brandโ€™s roots.

Side items like deep-fried fish tofu with cheese, poutine, and fried sausages can also be ordered.

This pasta venture isnโ€™t the brandโ€™s first surprise twist.

Just last week, Haidilao opened its first-ever Haidilao Express Malatang at The Amazing Brentwoodโ€™s TABLES food court, offering quick hot pot-inspired combo bowls.

But pasta?

Thatโ€™s a curveball even by Haidilao standards.

Still, itโ€™s a move that fits the companyโ€™s history of experimentation from late-night disco parties to karaoke for heartbroken guests.

So if youโ€™re in Richmond and craving fettuccine instead of hot pot, you can now order Italian pasta made by Haidilao on Ubereats and Fantuan.
