Popular Hong Kong Style Cafe Stall To Open Second Richmond Location

When it comes to Richmond food court eats, Hong Kong–style breakfast reigns supreme for its long lines and affordability.

And one popular stall is expanding with a new location.

We spotted signage for a second location of Chadon, a popular HK-inspired cafe stall, going up inside Yaohan Centre’s food court.

It is taking over the former Curry House stall.

The Chadon team told Noms Magazine that the new Yaohan outpost is set to open as early as next week.

Chadon first launched in 2024 inside the Empire Centre food court, quickly earning a following for its affordable, nostalgic takes on Hong Kong-style all-day breakfast and cha chaan teng classics.

Think silky scrambled eggs, instant noodles loaded with satay beef, macaroni soup with ham, and spicy pork chops over rice vermicelli.

All comfort food at its finest and under $15.

Chadon is also the sister concept to Cha Kee, the beloved HK food stall tucked inside President Plaza.

Both stalls specialize in homey, cafeteria-style dishes that lean into that warm, carb-heavy charm of old-school HK diners.

Chadon’s entrance into Yaohan food court would make them the only Hong Kong style cafe stall.

And considered their popularity at Empire Centre and President’s Plaza (as Cha Kee), Yaohan’s food court may see a surge of diners.

According to what Chadon shared with Noms Magazine, the Yaohan menu will include most of Empire Centre favourites.

But they will also debut brand-new items exclusive to this location, though the team is keeping the full details under wraps until opening day.

Chadon’s new expansion will now join recently other recently opened food spots in Richmond like Mikann Shabu, Chahalo, and Myth Dessert.
