When it comes to the best Korean food in BC, Coquitlam’s K-Town area is the place to be.

From KBBQ to Korean fried chicken, it’s a hotspot for delicious eats.

And now, there’s an exciting new addition coming to the scene!

Makchang Dodook, a popular KBBQ chain from South Korea with over 100 locations worldwide, is opening its first BC outpost very soon.

This April, they opened their first Canadian location in Edmonton.

Makchang Dodook is taking over the previous Hangang Restaurant location.

They’ve completely renovated it to fit their unique theme.

The word ‘Makchang’ translates to grilled intestine, and ‘Dodook’ means thief.

The restaurant’s branding features jail bars and wanted posters of their mascot, Makchang DoDook—the intestine thief.

The specialty here is grilled intestines, which come in both pork and beef versions prepared in the traditional Korean BBQ style.

But that’s not all.

They also have a large variety of meats to try, including short ribs, pork belly, giant shrimp, and scallops.

The team has told Noms Magazine that they’re looking to open their doors around June 13th.
