Richmond foodies have a new reason to flock to the Aberdeen Centre Food Court, as John 3:16 Malaysian Express finally opens its doors after months of delay.
This opening continues the wave of new players entering the Richmond food courts. Just earlier this month, Long’s Noodle House reopened in Admiralty Centre.
The new John 3:16 food court stall takes over the much-loved Cafe D’Lite Express, which shut down in March 2023 after a 14-year stint. The spot was known for its Hainanese Chicken & Rice and is related to Mamalee.
But with the arrival of John 3:16 Malaysian Express, locals can again enjoy some delicious Hainanese Chicken in the Aberdeen Food Court.
The Legacy Continues
John 3:16 Malaysian Delight isn’t new to Richmond’s food scene.
Its journey began when owner Daniel Chew immigrated to Vancouver in 2009, starting with a humble food court stall called Yummy Malaysian Delight in the Richmond Public Market.
That stall laid the groundwork for what would become a thriving and top rated eatery near Richmond City Hall, which opened around 2016.
Now with the opening of John 3:16 Malaysian Express, Chew fills the void left by Cafe D’Lite with his Malaysian flavours and his version of the Hainanese chicken on rice.
What’s on the Menu?
John 3:16 Malaysian Express offers many of the favourites from the John 3:16 restaurants. Customers can expect dishes like the smooth Hainanese chicken on rice, the ever-popular laksa, dry noodles, and the ever-pleasing roti canai, among others.
A Celebration of Flavours
To mark its grand opening, John 3:16 Malaysian Express is treating its customers to a special promotion: 1 FREE drink with every main entree purchased, valid until December 11th.
