It looks like Vancouver’s tea scene is about to get a royal addition.
We spotted bright coming soon signage at the Landmark on Robson development for Chaiiwala of London, the self-proclaimed King of Karak.
This marks the brand’s first-ever Vancouver outpost.
For those unfamiliar, Chaiiwala’s story goes way back.
Founded in 1927 on the bustling streets of New Delhi, the brand’s roots trace to a humble tea stall run by the forefathers of its original founders.
Their secret Karak Chaii recipe drew crowds from far and wide, laying the foundation for what would eventually become a global phenomenon nearly a century later.
In 2016, the family revived the legacy, modernizing the menu while keeping true to the original recipes that made their chai so beloved.
Today, Chaiiwala has grown into one of the fastest-expanding independent beverage chains in the world.
The brand is already well established across Canada, with 20 locations nationwide, including six in British Columbia — three in Surrey, and one each in New Westminster, Langley, and Abbotsford.
Known for its bold and aromatic drinks, Chaiiwala offers an extensive lineup ranging from their famous Karak Chaii and Karak Coffee to English Chaii.
But it’s not just about the drinks — their food menu brings together both comfort and spice, featuring items like the English-ish Breakfast, Sweet Bombay Toast, butter chicken rolls, masala chips, chilli paneer, and indulgent desserts like gulab jamun and gajar halwa.
The Robson Street location has yet to be officially announced by the brand or appear on its website.
Chaiiwala Robson now joins other upcoming Vancouver food spots like C Market Coffee Main Street, Onigiri Ya Downtown, and Cockney Kings Main Street.
