Fancy some Korean BBQ in Burnaby?
Back in May, we shared that Coquitlam Centre’s Galbi KBBQ was opening up in Burnaby near Metrotown.
Well, the time is finally here as the team shared with Noms Magazine that they just soft opened their new restaurant this weekend.
They have taken over the previous Chirpyhut Chicken corner unit along Kingsway, next to Big Way Hot Pot.
Galbi KBBQ opened by Coquitlam Centre in 2021, and this is their first Burnaby location.
Their menu is known for being concise but has all the necessary options like marinated beef short ribs, fresh outside skirt, brisket point, fresh pork jowl, and fresh pork belly.
You’ll also find beloved Korean staple dishes like seafood pancake, bibimbap, japchae, corn cheese and more.
The 46 seater location is sleek and modern with a bit of an industrial vibe.
There’s a cool mix of exposed brick and concrete walls, paired with warm copper pendant lights over each table.
The dark wood booths give it a cozy feel, and the grills in the center of the tables are ready for KBBQ action.
With Kingsway packed with hot pot joints, so Galbi bringing their Korean BBQ to the area is a welcoming addition to the mix.
The area has also seen other new openings like Horin Ramen and MACU Tea open their doors in the last 30 days.
