This Viral Korean Donut Shop Just Opened a Massive Cafe on Fraser Street

The commute for one of Metro Vancouver’s fluffiest donuts is officially over.

After spotting the signage earlier this fall, Goldie’s Donut & Bakery has quietly opened its doors on Fraser Street.

The shop officially soft opened on December 12th.

Known for its Korean-style cream-filled brioche donuts, Goldie’s first made waves after opening in the Horseshoe Bay area back in 2024.

The brand originally began in Korea before bringing its signature fluffy donuts and cozy cafe vibe to Canada.

We stopped by (anonymously) to see if their first Vancouver location lives up to the hype of their Horseshoe Bay and Langley outposts.

The first thing you will notice is the sheer size of the space.

Taking over the former Penang Bistro unit, the cafe is incredibly spacious.

The interior mirrors the warm, cozy vibe of their other locations, featuring light wood paneling, communal tables, and comfortable leather couches.

(For laptop warriors, they do have plugs available at the seats close to the wall)

It is currently decked out in Christmas decor, making it feel like a cute holiday living room.

If you are new to Goldie’s, the draw here is the Korean-style brioche donuts.

We grabbed a box of four to go: Strawberry, Milk, Matcha, and Tiramisu.

Donuts range from $5.50 and up each.

They are generously filled with cream but remain surprisingly light.

The drink menu is equally impressive, featuring specialty items like the “Nutty Cloud,” “Matcha Cream Latte,” and “Oreo Cream Mocha”.

We paired our donuts with a simple latte, which came in a cup featuring their adorable Golden Retriever mascot.

The brand is actually inspired by the owners’ dog, aiming to bring that same “unconditional happiness” to their customers.

During this soft opening phase, the shop will be open from 8 AM to 8 PM daily.

However, you might want to mark your calendar for Boxing Day.

The team has confirmed their Grand Opening is set for December 26th.

They teased that some “great perks” will be happening that day, though they are keeping the specific details under wraps for now.

Goldie’s Vancouver now joins a list of recently opened Vancouver food spots like Peaked Pies on Broadway, Onigiri-ya Downtown and Big Way in Mount Pleasant.
