Vancouver Korean Pub Shuts Down Just Months After Opening—Here’s What’s Next for the Team

A quiet closure has taken place on Denman Street.

Jinmi Juga, the Korean pub offshoot from the team behind Jinmi, has quietly shut down after just a few months in operation.

The space, which opened in June 2025, now sits dark and covered.

Peaking through the windows reveals signs of transition, and the brand’s Instagram page has been completely wiped, suggesting the closure is permanent.

For context, the Jinmi team first introduced Jinmi Juga in June 2025 as an expansion of their original soy-marinated crab restaurant.

The West End spot, known for its modern Korean eats and traditional drinks, was meant to serve as a casual pub counterpart to the more refined Jinmi restaurant that relocated to Cambie Street near BC Place.

But after just a few months of operation, the team has decided to consolidate.

In a statement shared with Noms Magazine, the Jinmi team explained, “We decided to close Juga in order to focus more on the current JINMI and to further deepen the appreciation of Korean cuisine. Our JINMI team has come together in this new space to share the true depth and authenticity of Korean cuisine.”

They added that Chef Jay remains at the helm, continuing his passion for expressing the essence and profound flavours of Korean food through every dish.

Guests are now encouraged to visit Jinmi’s Cambie Street restaurant, which has become the brand’s main hub for their elevated take on traditional Korean cuisine.

Jinmi Juga now joins other recently closed Vancouver food spots like 404 Coffee Lab, Mister Kitsilano, and Potluck Hawker Eatery.
