The patisserie, a passion project of Lyann and Justin, began during the pandemic.

They initially started by baking mochi crumble puffs and Japanese caramel pudding castella cakes from their homes in 2020.

Months after seeing high demand, they moved to a Commissary Kitchen and added more sweets to their menu like an adorable teddy bear-shaped mousse cakes.

In October 2022, L&J opened its first storefront in the Marpole neighbourhood.

However, a heartfelt Instagram post on November 29th revealed that the patisserie would serve its last sweet treat on December 9th, marking the end of its three-years of operation.

A Heartfelt Goodbye

In their announcement, the owners expressed mixed emotions, reflecting on the precious memories and overwhelming support received.

Launching L&J Patisserie was more than a business venture for the owners, it was a dream brought to life.

…after much contemplation, we’ve come to realize that the demands of running this business have left us extremely exhausted. It has been an emotional rollercoaster, balancing our passion for baking with the need to care for our well-being and loved ones.
