A Popular Lonsdale Italian Restaurant Spotted Expanding to Vancouver

It looks like one of North Vancouver’s favourite Italian restaurants is finally crossing the bridge.

We recently spotted coming soon signage for Alberello along Denman Street, right beside the now-empty Jimin JUGA unit.

The bright yellow wrap proudly announces the brand’s arrival and hints at a big new chapter for the well-loved Lonsdale spot.

Alberello, which means sapling in Italian, has been serving authentic Neapolitan pizza and classic pasta dishes in North Vancouver since around 2014.

Over the years, it has become a must-visit for locals and tourists looking for comforting Italian flavours without the fuss.

Their stone oven pizza is one of the main draws, known for its light but chewy crust and simple toppings that lean into tradition.

The Salsiccia pizza, made with homemade fennel sausage, is frequently recommended.

The Verde Noce is another crowd favourite and comes packed with walnuts, arugula and a savoury vegetarian combination that regulars rave about.

Their pastas are just as popular.

The lasagna gets constant praise for its seasoning and homestyle flavour, while the carbonara stands out for its rich sauce and generous portion size.

On their website, Alberello hints at their next chapter.

The Denman Street space will be roughly 2,500 square feet, making it a sizeable addition to the neighbourhood and a notable step forward for the brand.

There is no confirmed opening date just yet, but construction signage is already up and the space looks like it is in the early stages of being transformed.

Alberello Vancouver now joins a growing list of upcoming food spots in the city, including Tahini’s, Dante Bentall Centre and Goldie’s Fraser.
