Surrey foodies, get ready!
One of Metro Vancouver’s hottest dining trends is finally making its way to King George Hub.
A TikTok user (@zipporahf) recently spotted signage announcing that Big Way Hot Pot is opening soon at the bustling transit-oriented development in the heart of Surrey’s downtown.

This marks the first Surrey location for the popular malatang-style hot pot chain that has taken Metro Vancouver over.
If you’re unfamiliar, Big Way is a self-serve hot pot brand that first opened on Kingsway in 2021.
It has since grown to more than 10 locations across the Metro Vancouver, and already expanded to Toronto and California.
The concept is simple but wildly addictive: diners fill their bowls with over 100 ingredients ranging from fresh seafood and veggies to noodles and meats.
The price is based on the weight of the bowl, making it customizable for any appetite or budget.
Part of the fun is the social media trend it has inspired — customers guess the price of their bowl before it’s weighed, with videos often going viral thanks to the surprising totals and generous piles of food.
The Surrey outpost will be part of King George Hub, a massive multi-phase development next to King George SkyTrain Station.
The food scene at the hub is already shaping up with spots like Kinton Ramen, Jollibee, Reux Cafe, and Combine Cafe, while upcoming additions include Breka, Pokerito, and Body Energy Club.
No official opening date has been shared yet, but the news is sure to excite locals who’ve been waiting for their own Big Way location without having to trek into Burnaby or Vancouver.
