Another day, another shuffle in Vancouver’s food scene.
But this one’s a sweet comeback and not just another sad closure report.
Longtime local favourite Sal Y Limón is opening a new location on Fraser Street, taking over the former Taco n Todo Taqueria unit.

Earlier this month, Sal Y Limón bid farewell to their longtime Kingsway outpost, which they’d operated for 10 years in the same building as Ba Le’s original shop.
That entire site is now set for redevelopment, which meant the beloved Mexican joint needed a new home.
So yes, you could call this more of a move than a brand-new debut.
Founded by a passionate team of four – Carolina, Adriana, Pepe, and Sebastien – Sal Y Limón has spent over a decade building a loyal fanbase with their rich, authentic approach to Mexican street food.
Carolina brought traditional recipes straight from her family’s restaurant in Manzanillo, Mexico, and partnered with Chef Pepe to bring those flavours to Vancouver.
What they’ve created is a warm, welcoming space where families can dive into tacos, tortas, burritos, and other flavour-packed fare, complete with housemade salsas and refreshing horchata.
The new Fraser Street location looks to continue that tradition and serve the community just as their Kingsway spot did.
Judging from their most recent post, it is very close to opening too!
It’s also worth noting that Sal Y Limón isn’t slowing down.
They’re also working on a future East Hastings location, meaning their neighbourhood taco takeover is just getting started.
No official opening date has been announced for the Fraser spot yet.
Safe to say the countdown has begun.
