Mobile Espresso Bar Opens Its First Cafe in Downtown Vancouver

Yaletown recently got a new coffee shop, and this one has an interesting backstory.

Nine Bar Coffee started as a fully mobile, battery-powered espresso bar that could set up just about anywhere.

Weddings, company parties, festivals, you name it.

Up until now, Nine Bar has been entirely on wheels.

But with demand growing, the team is finally setting down roots with their very first storefront, and it just opened in Yaletown.

The new cafe is located along Davie Street, taking over the space that previously housed Coo Coo Coffee.

We first reported back in late November that Coo Coo had shut down and Nine Bar was moving in.

The cafe quietly opened earlier in January, and it is already drawing in the neighbourhood coffee crowd.

Walking in, the vibe is warm and modern with a minimalist edge.

Woven pendant lights hang from the ceiling, giving the space an inviting glow.

There are plants scattered throughout and a seating area with wooden chairs that feels cozy without being cramped.

The menu covers all the espresso essentials, from americanos and flat whites to lattes and pour overs.

Matcha, chai lattes, and London fogs are all on the board too, and every drink is available hot or iced.

There is also a small pastry selection in the display case, including croissants, chocolate-striped croissants, loaf cake slices, and pistachio chocolate supreme croissant.

It is a solid grab-and-go lineup for anyone stopping in on the way to work or settling in to get some laptop time.

For locals in the area, this fills a gap left by Coo Coo’s departure and adds another independent option to Yaletown’s coffee scene.

Nine Bar Coffee joins other recently opened spots around Vancouver, including Tayybeh, Big Mama and Papa’s Pizzeria, and Paragon Tea Room Cambie 3.0.
