A new bubble tea shop with a familiar face is on its way to Richmond.
While driving along Alderbridge Way, we spotted signage for an upcoming tea spot called Pika Tea.
Located in the exterior shops of Venezia Place on Alexandra Road, this new shop immediately caught our attention thanks to its logo featuring a certain lightning-tailed outline that looks a lot like Pikachu.
According to its Google Business description, the full name of the shop is Pika Herb & Tea Co., and it’s not your typical bubble tea joint.
The description claims it will be “a modern bubble tea shop blending tradition and innovation,” specializing in herbal-based teas, premium loose-leaf options, and wellness-driven drinks inspired by royal herbal traditions.
Rather than focusing on syrupy sweet drinks, the concept emphasizes natural ingredients, reduced sugar options, and health-forward recipes.
Peeking through the windows, the shop looks to still be in the early stages of renovation, with a completely empty interior aside from the colourful walls and some taped floor outlines.
There’s no word yet on when the shop will open or how, exactly, the Pokémon-inspired branding will play into the final design.
For now, Pika Tea remains one of the more intriguing and mysterious additions coming soon to Richmond’s food scene.
Pika Tea now joins other upcoming Richmond food spots like The Food Court, Savor Hill, and Lao Cai Richmond.
