The cult-favourite bakery hidden inside Nemesis Coffee is about to go solo.
Dope Bakehouse, the buttery sidekick to Nemesis’s iconic coffee program, is officially opening its first-ever standalone location this summer in North Vancouver.
And ofcourse it’s bringing all the flaky hits with it.
This marks a major milestone in Nemesis’s ever-growing empire.

The expansion follows the company’s recent wave of growth across Metro Vancouver, including their new cafes in Surrey and upcoming Coquitlam.
But unlike its café counterparts, Dope Bakehouse is stepping out with its own identity.
With the signature Nemesis vibes, but with a little more edge, creativity, and…laminated dough.
At the helm of the bakehouse is Kevin Lucas, a classically trained French pastry chef who grew up in Brittany, France – aka the birthplace of kouign-amann.
His pastry pedigree includes stops at top restaurants in Audierne, La Plagne, and Saint-Barthélemy, and his obsession with all things flaky is evident in the menu.
Expect a pastry lineup that’s playful, inventive, and unapologetically indulgent.
Think Mango Coconut Rice Pudding Danish, Hojicha Strawberry Danish, Bacon Smoked Cheese & Fermented Honey Croissant, and Marsala Tiramisu Cruffins.
The drinks will also go beyond your average café fare, with exclusive Nemesis coffee blends, signature drinks inspired by the pastries, and fresh-pressed orange juice.
And when it comes to Nemesis Coffee, you bet the vibes are very much part of the concept.
You’ll find a 3000 sq.ft space with a 24-foot-high ceiling, a glossy butter-inspired bar, and interiors that nod to the curves and colours of baked goods, all created with up-and-coming design studio Sml Studio Architecture.
“This is our fun one,” says Nemesis founder Jess Reno, calling Dope Bakehouse the “playful, younger sibling to Nemesis.”
He explains the team is building a space where every detail, from music to merch, feels cheeky, intentional, and community-driven.
The opening date hasn’t been announced just yet, but if you’re a fan of Nemesis’s current in-house baked goods, this one is going to be worth crossing the bridge for.
