More changes are brewing in South Granville!
Alongside the recent opening of Sushi Umi, the neighbourhood just got a little sweeter with the arrival of the new Nero Waffle Bar.
Back in March, we shared that a community member spotted signage for the city’s favourite waffle bar at the previous Heirloom Juice Co. unit.
Nero Belgian Waffles, a local favorite since 2012, was started by husband-and-wife duo Jan and Eilnaz.
With deep roots in Belgium’s food and hotel industry, they brought their dream of a cozy coffee and waffle bar to life on the Canadian West Coast.
Now, with this new South Granville location, Nero is spreading the waffle love even further.
This is Nero’s third location in Vancouver, and is their mini waffle concept.
What does that mean?
Think specialty coffee drinks and their adorable mini liège waffles.
These bite-sized versions of their popular liège waffles come in a variety of flavours like original, vanilla custard, strawberry bliss, and even London fog.
They’re the perfect treat for a quick sweet snack or an after-dinner dessert.
And the best part? They’re easy to grab and go, making them perfect for anyone on the move.
While there’s minimal seating for those who want to dine in.
But if you’re craving a quick waffle fix or need a coffee to fuel your day, Nero’s got you covered.
According to co-owner Eilnaz, this new South Granville spot is also serving as Nero’s central hub, where they prepare the dough and batter that gets sent to their downtown outposts.
So, whether you’re grabbing a waffle here or downtown, you’re still getting that fresh, authentic Nero flavour.
Don’t forget to share this with your waffle-loving friends!
