Richmond’s Union Square just got a new addition, and if you’re a fan of affordable Chinese eats, this one’s for you.
Lucky J has officially opened its doors, taking over the former Hanppy Tofu House space, which sadly shut down after 13 years of operation.
When we first spotted the signage last month, the name didn’t give much away on what it exactly offered.
But now that the menu is out, we finally know what it’s all about—classic Chinese snacks and comfort food, all at super budget-friendly prices.
The lineup at Lucky J covers rice rolls, congee, and wonton noodles, all made to order and even freshly pressed in-house soy milk.
If you love a good cheung fun, you’ve got options—egg rice rolls, dried shrimp, pork, shrimp and fish, and even Chinese donut variations, priced between $5 and $8.
For wonton and noodle bowls, they’re just $7.50, which is one of the cheapest we’ve seen in a while.
And to celebrate their opening, Lucky J is offering 20% off the entire menu until March 15th, making it the perfect time to check them out.
With HeyTea and Flour Dance Bakery recently opening and Blooming Fish Spice House and Xin Snacks in progress, there’s more new food coming to Union Square.
