A new dessert cafe is coming to Central Richmond, and it’s none other than R Ki Dessert Studio!
This sweet spot is moving from its Steveston location to a larger unit near Lansdowne Mall.
R Ki Coffee Lab was opened back in 2020 by the husband-wife duo, Rus and Yuki.
Yuki took charge of desserts and baked goods, while Rus did his magic with coffee.
In 2021, the operations split, with R Ki Coffee Lab handling roasting, wholesale, and coffee courses, while R Ki Dessert Studio offered a tempting array of mini cakes, cheesecakes, basques, and croissants.
The Steveston location, which opened in October 2022, was a cozy rustic spot with only 4 seats, making it a charming yet snug place for indulging in treats.
In May 2023, the dessert studio announced its temporary closure and relocation to a bigger space.
Now, the new location is situated beside Well Tea on Alexandra Road, taking over a former Superbored clothing store.
We’ve been keeping an eye on the progress and managed to peek inside, revealing plenty of seating for a comfortable dessert experience.
We expect the new spot to retain its cozy, rustic charm, featuring wooden accents.
Though the interior hasn’t been fully unveiled yet, we’re confident the playful vibe will shine through.
There’s no word on an opening date just yet, but we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, get ready to indulge in all your favorite desserts in their spacious new digs.
