The Aberdeen Centre food court is welcoming another dumpling spot after one recently sadly left.
A new stall called Shanghai Winning Baozi is setting up shop where the popular and longtime vendor Shanghai Morning once stood.
If you recall, Shanghai Morning quietly shuttered in June without explanation, leaving a major void for dumpling lovers in Richmond.

Now it seems that void is about to be filled once again.
When we dropped by this week, the stall had a “Grand Opening” banner posted inside, suggesting it’s very close to opening.
And based on the full menu displayed at the counter, fans of Shanghai-style eats will feel right at home.
Shanghai Winning Baozi will be serving up a wide range of classic street food and dimsum staples, with many crossover dishes from its predecessor.
That includes crowd-pleasers like pork buns, cabbage buns, pan-fried buns, and sesame pork buns.
You’ll also find green onion pancakes, deep-fried Chinese donuts, and pork dumplings – both in soup and steamed – that should satisfy any cravings for juicy, savoury bites.
Their menu even includes comfort items like millet porridge, wonton soup, and small chilled appetizers like shredded cucumber.
As of now, there’s no word on whether the new stall is connected to Shanghai Morning or another restaurant group entirely.
But the similarities in offerings have already caught the attention of longtime customers, many of whom were sad to see the former business disappear.
Shanghai Winning Baozi now joins a growing roster of new arrivals at Aberdeen Centre, including Max’s To Go, Fruit Box, and Hong Phat.
