Popular New England Chowder Spot Opens in Downtown Vancouver

The wait is finally over.

Back in September, we shared that Jack’s Chowder was bringing its highly rated New England clam chowder to downtown Vancouver.

And now it’s officially here!

Entrance to Bentall Centre Upper food court

As of November 12, Jack’s Chowder has opened its newest outpost inside the Bentall Centre upper food court, right beside the fruit salad bar with plenty of seating for the lunchtime crowd.

This is the second location for the brand, following its successful Fraser Street shop that took over the former Shameless Buns space.

Owners Matt and Corvette have recreated the same nostalgic seafood shack vibe but tailored it for the downtown rush.

The Bentall menu still features Jack’s signature creamy New England clam chowder, available in both cup and sourdough bread bowl options.

Guests can add extras like bacon or lobster oil for that indulgent touch.

Beyond chowder, the new location serves a variety of seafood comfort classics, from Fish & Chips and Dill Pickle Popcorn Shrimp to their signature Shrimp Croissant Roll.

What makes this stall special, though, is the debut of their exclusive Jack’s Tacos.

It’s two beer-battered cod or shrimp tacos topped with pineapple salsa, elote mayo, and a mango tamarind hot sauce.

We went anonymously and ordered their signature New England clam chowder with the sourdough bread bowl upgrade.

And wow was it MASSIVE!

It’s easily enough for a full lunch meal and more.

The soup was piping hot, creamy, and rich, perfect for a cold, rainy day downtown.

For now the hours are 11AM to 4PM Monday to Fridays.

Jack’s Chowder Bentall now joins other recently opened Vancouver food spots like Fionn, Kojima Ramen, and Eldoria.
