If you’ve ever wished you could get a rainbow of lychee, longan, pomelo, and mangosteen all in one perfectly cut fruit box, your summer just got sweeter.
Fruit Box, a local specialty fruit brand, is officially opening its first physical location in Richmond.
We spotted signage for the new shop taking over the former Song Tea unit inside Empire Centre, just three months after Song Tea shut its doors.

Fruit Box isn’t totally new to the scene.
They’ve been operating online as Fruit Lab since mid-2024, offering vibrant fruit salads and yogurt bowls for delivery, and gaining buzz for their premium, hand-cut fruit boxes featuring rare or seasonal finds from across the globe.
According to their post on Red Note, their mission is about sourcing top-tier fruit flown in from around the world – as far as Thailand, New Zealand, and Australia.
That means Thai golden pillow durian, New Zealand kiwis, and Australian blueberries, just to name a few.
But freshness is only part of the appeal.
Every container is meticulously arranged into eye-catching, edible mosaics, whether it’s delicate pomelo shreds with mangosteen and blackberries or longan and fig nestled among translucent grapes and golden cherries.
Their visual game is just as strong as their fruit curation.
Now, with their first storefront on the way, Fruit Box is bringing their delivery-only concept into a tangible experience for walk-in customers.
And for those who aren’t sure what to try first, they’ve got pre-curated combos like the “Signature Fruit Box,” “Papaya Coconut Bowl,” and seasonal picks.
According to their post, the grand opening is happening very soon, so keep your eyes peeled if you frequent the Empire Centre food scene.
Fruit Box now joins the growing list of upcoming food spots in Richmond including Hong Phat, Cotti Coffee, and UTown Hot Pot.
