New Gastown Lounge Opens With $10 Dollar Everything Menu

A new late-night plant based lounge has quietly replaced MeeT on Water Street, and everything on the menu is ten dollars.

It looks like Gastown just got a surprise new hangout spot.

Earlier this month, MeeT in Gastown announced its closure after a decade in the community. The space at Water Street has been dark since, and locals have been wondering what would take over next.

A Noms Mag community member (@conniekyleung) tipped us off that something has already taken over the space.

A brand new spot called Dix quietly soft-opened on November 12.

And yes, the concept is very different from MeeT while still keeping the plant-based spirit alive.

Dix is a new late night lounge that is going all in on one idea.

Everything on the menu is ten dollars. Every dish and every drink.

The menu sticks to a fun, comfort food vibe while staying fully plant based.

You’ll find items like rosemary frites with house made buck sauce, buffalo swap wings with tzatziki, mango chickn quesadilla, and a teriyaki chickn bagel.

This kind of ten dollar everything menu is rare in downtown Vancouver, where prices continue to rise and affordable options are disappearing.

It looks like Dix isn’t just trying to be a hangout spot either.

They shared a post saying they’re open to hosting DJs, poets, producers, and artists who need a space to build community.

It feels like they want to make the old MeeT space a creative late night hub again.

Gastown especially has been seeing a mix of closures and revivals lately, so this one adds a fresh twist to the neighbourhood.

Dix now joins recent additions like Jack’s Chowder Bentall, Fionn Maccool, and Kojima Ramen.
