If you’re a fan of Korean BBQ, listen up!

A new spot is opening up in Burnaby near Metrotown.

Taking over the previous Chirpyhut Chicken corner unit along Kingsway, next to Big Way Hot Pot, is the upcoming Galbi Korean BBQ.

If you’ve been to Coquitlam for Korean BBQ, the name will sound familiar.

Galbi KBBQ opened by Coquitlam Centre in 2021, and this will be their first Burnaby location.

Their menu is known for being concise but has all the necessary options like marinated beef short ribs, fresh outside skirt, brisket point, fresh pork jowl, and fresh pork belly.

You’ll also find beloved Korean dishes like cold buckwheat noodles, kimchi stew, and gamjatang.

And, of course, they offer a variety of alcoholic beverages.

According to the team at Galbi KBBQ, the Burnaby outpost will have “a more diverse menu” and is aiming to be opened in July.

With Kingsway filled with hot pot joints, a Korean BBQ spot is a welcome addition to the mix.
