New Korean Street Food Spot Spotted Opening in Richmond

Richmond’s food scene is about to welcome a new player, with a concept that blends popular Korean comfort dishes and trendy cafe-style bites.

Spotted last month by us and the Noms Mag community, signage for The Seoulful has gone up on Alderbridge Way, in the unit formerly occupied by iTofu Dessert.

The space sits right beside Big Way Hot Pot and is currently undergoing preparations for a soft opening.

The Seoulful appears to be centred around three staples of Korean casual dining: kimbap, salt bread, and tteokbokki.

Early signage suggests the menu will offer six types of kimbap rolls, a lineup of nine sweet and savoury salt bread variations, and piping hot cheese tteokbokki.

While the full menu has yet to be revealed, the concept looks to balance traditional street food influences.

This marks a new chapter for the space, which was previously home to iTofu Dessert, a long-running dessert shop that closed in September after operating for 13 years.

There’s no confirmed opening date yet, but the team behind The Seoulful has teased to Noms Magazine that the launch is “coming soon.”

The Seoulful now joins a growing list of upcoming Richmond eateries, including Stone & Flow Asian Bistro, Lucky Lily, and Pocorit.
