New Matcha Cafe Opens Across from Richmond Centre

The matcha craze in Metro Vancouver shows zero signs of slowing down.

If anything, it is just getting prettier.

Richmond has just landed a new-ish dedicated spot for matcha lovers called Nonbiri Cafe.

However, you might miss it if you aren’t paying attention.

The new cafe is located inside the recently opened food hall directly across from Richmond Centre.

It shares the space with other newcomers like Oishinoya and Pokey Okey, meaning you can chase your poke bowl or gyudon with a matcha latte.

Despite being inside a shared food hall, they have managed to carve out a distinct “garden” vibe.

The corner is decked out in massive floral wallpaper, hanging greenery, and plush green velvet banquettes.

It creates a cozy, visual contrast to the neon signs of the food stalls next door.

When it comes to the menu, they are taking the quality seriously.

A sign on the counter proudly states they use Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha shipped directly from Kagoshima, Japan.

The drink lineup features the viral aesthetics people love, including a layered Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte and a moody Black Sesame Latte.

If you prefer something fizzier, they also pour a Pineapple Fizz made with crushed pineapple and fresh lime.

They also have a tight food menu of sweet and savoury options.

You can grab a Hojicha Blueberry Danish or go for a Matcha Strawberry Parfait if you want a treat.

For lunch, they serve croissant sandwiches ranging from Tunamayo to a classic Ham & Egg with smoked cheddar.

Nonbiri Cafe joins the list of recently opened food spots in Richmond like Cotti Coffee, Hong Kong Pai Pai, and Savor Hill.
