For the last two years, matcha has been experiencing a serious surge in popularity.
And throughout Vancouver, the love for matcha-based drinks has only grown stronger.
Now, there’s a new matcha and tea bar adding to the excitement—Superbolt, a performance tea brand just opened its first retail location in Kitsilano.
They’re here to shake up the matcha scene with some functional, energy-boosting blends designed for athletes and creatives.
Or just those who want some clean energy without the crash that coffee gives!
Superbolt is the brainchild of Elliot Graham, who set out to create a functional tea brand specifically for athletes and creatives.
I recall meeting Elliot at Plant Expo back in 2021, where he was showcasing 3 – 4 performance tea blends.
And now they’ve grown to the point of having their own retail space!
The shop officially opened on March 1st, taking over the former Kokomonk space on West 1st Avenue.
Inside, the sleek, minimalistic design matches Kitsilano’s effortlessly cool vibe, featuring polished stainless steel, warm lighting, and an open space that gives it a modern yet welcoming atmosphere.
Adorned on the walls are hip commissioned artwork, vinyl records and merch.
One specialty drink at Superbolt Lab is their SUPER MATCHA, a 75-grade ceremonial matcha sourced from Shizuoka, Japan, poured over your choice of milk and powered up with house-made Performance Syrup.
It is packed with yerba mate, Siberian ginseng, tart cherry, and ginger, it’s designed to enhance focus, sustain energy, and speed up recovery.
Consider it fuel for work, workouts, or just getting through a busy day.
Beyond matcha, Superbolt offers functional tea blends crafted for different parts of your day.
Like the Performance Blend that helps to boost cognitive function and endurance or the Glow Up Blend designed to support digestion, balance hormones, and promote glowing skin.
Superbolt isn’t just about drinks though.
They’ve also added protein smoothies, Cali-style burritos, and baked treats to the menu, making it an easy stop whether you’re looking for a quick meal, a post-workout boost, or a healthier alternative to coffee.
With the ongoing rise of matcha and a growing demand for functional beverages in a rather health-crazed city like Vancouver, Superbolt is perfectly timed to become a favourite for those seeking clean energy with real benefits.
