A tiny ice cream window on East Hastings that could barely fit two people inside just got a whole lot bigger.
Plain Jane has officially reopened in the Grandview-Woodland neighbourhood, and this time, there is room to actually sit down and stay awhile.

The shop originally opened back in 2024 as a takeout window only.
Now it has expanded into the unit next door, which was previously occupied by Muckers.
The extra space means Plain Jane finally has dine-in seating for the first time since it opened.
The reopening happened on March 23.
For those who have not tried it yet, Plain Jane does ice cream differently than most shops in the city.

The process draws from a New Zealand-style method where real frozen fruit is blended directly into an organic French vanilla base at the time of serving.
The result is soft, smooth, and slightly airy, with a brightness that comes through naturally rather than being layered on.
To be clear…it is not a sorbet or a smoothie!
It is somewhere in between, and it works.
The current flavour lineup keeps things tight with just strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry as options for now.

There is also a dairy free option for those who need it.
Everything is made to order, which means you are watching your ice cream get blended right in front of you.
The concept is simple and that is kind of the point.
The name says it all.
Plain Jane is open daily from noon to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
Plain Jane now joins other recently opened food spots in Vancouver like Stackhouse Sandwich Gastown, Cafe Lokal, and Mitchie Matcha.
