The city has been seeing a ton of new aesthetic cafes open up in the last couple months.
But nothing quite niche to fulfill the needs of those want a 100% plant-based meal.
Well, AM Cafe (Animals Matter) has quietly opened up in Mount Pleasant, bringing a fully vegan menu packed with bold flavours and a whole lot of personality.
If youโre looking for a plant-based spot that serves up more than just salads, this is where you need to be.
AM Cafe is the passion project of Lindsay and Olly, a duo whoโve combined 25 years in hospitality and 30 years in construction to create a space thatโs as much about good vibes as it is about great food.
Their dream?
A welcoming, relaxed environment where people can enjoy next-level comfort food without compromising on values.
Since opening in late November 2024, the cafe has been serving up โcomfort-driven plant-based food with a touch of glamourโโand honestly, that description couldnโt be more spot-on.
The plant based menu features all-day breakfast and lunch dishes like The Morninโ Burrito, The Smoked Salmon Croissant, The Fish Burger, and The Jerk Burrito.
We were told brunch cocktails are coming soon!
The space itself reflects their fun and funky visionโa mix of farmhouse rustic with modern, earthy tones, bright colors, and what they call a โsubtle gangster edgeโ (weโll let you interpret that one).
With big open windows leading onto the patio, 20 seats, and a top-tier sound system, itโs designed for good vibes and maybe even a few dance parties.
And theyโre just getting started!
Lindsay shared with Noms Magazine that they’re expanding into the space next door this summer, bringing more seating, a small plant-based shop featuring their signature sauces and local brands, and intimate evening events.
With so many new cafes opening in Vancouver lately, AM Cafe stands out by delivering a plant-based experience thatโs both exciting and approachable.
