There’s a new convenience store that will make you feel like you’re being transported straight back to retro Taiwan.
Located right next to its sibling store, Sweet Memory, Old Memory Kitchen is the newest addition from the Memory Corner restaurant group.
The shop officially opened in early June and is decked out in throwback signage and vintage-style displays.

A Memory Corner staff told Noms Magazine that Old Memory Kitchen aims to recreate the small grocery store culture reminiscent of old Taiwan.
The small grocery store culture used to be in every part of neighbourhood in Taiwan, where they sell interesting toys and snacks, which used to be the most anticipated place for children. But as modern days the culture seems to dissappear, so we want to bring it back and show the culture in the old Taiwan days. -Memory Corner Staff
Inside, you’ll find shelves stocked with all kinds of classic childhood goodies.
Think retro candies, glass jars of handmade treats, and brightly coloured toys that would make any ‘80s or ‘90s Taiwanese kid tear up a little from nostalgia.
But it’s not just a snack & toy stop.
Inside, you’ll find a freezer section loaded with frozen ready-to-eat Taiwanese comfort dishes, that are offered at Sweet Memory and Memory Corner.
We spotted items like herbal chicken hot pot, Taiwanese meatball dumplings, tomato and beef brisket noodle soup, and even pan-fried mochi pancakes.
From a friend’s recommendation, we picked up three items to try throughout the week.
The herbal chicken hot pot we warmed up at home delivered full-on restaurant-level flavour.
This concept is more than a nostalgia play.
It’s also a clever expansion of the group’s culinary reach, serving as a centralized kitchen and take-home hub for their broader brand.
