It looks like Richmond is getting another new bakery cafe very soon.
A Noms Mag community member (@alannnblu) spotted last week a fresh sign reading Baking Factory taking over the former Yummy Restaurant space across from Aberdeen Centre.
The entire interior has already undergone a major transformation, hinting that this new spot is gearing up to open its doors sooner rather than later.

When we peeked inside, the space looked completely renovated from top to bottom.
Floor to ceiling windows let in a ton of natural light, bouncing off the grey tile floors and clean white walls.
Sleek seating fills the front half of the room, with plush chairs, modern tables, and a layout that feels bright, airy, and intentionally minimal.
The back section features a long counter area and a series of empty racks and display shelves that seem ready to hold pastries and breads.
Overhead, a sculptural wooden light fixture draws the eye upward and gives the whole space a surprisingly upscale feel for a bakery.

Despite the near-finished look of the interior, the concept remains a mystery for now.
Their official website is live but features only AI generated images with no real menu or product teasers.
Their Instagram is also empty, making it hard to predict what kind of baked goods or drinks they plan to serve.
What we do know is that this part of Richmond is already packed with bakeries, from classic Hong Kong style shops to modern Japanese inspired ones.
It will be interesting to see how Baking Factory plans to stand out and what niche they will carve out once they open.
Baking Factory now joins a growing list of upcoming Richmond food spots, including Pocorit, Stone and Flow, and Lucky Lily.
