Finally: A New Richmond Spot Is Steaming Real Taro In-House (No Powder Allowed)

The corner unit at Yaohan Centre has officially transformed.

After the closure of BenGong’s Tea, a new local brand called And Drinks has quietly moved in.

The shop soft opened earlier this month, bringing a splash of purple to the busy plaza.

If you are tired of artificial powders in your bubble tea, this place is making a serious statement.

Their philosophy is simple: real fruit, real ingredients, and zero shortcuts.

The brand focuses heavily on taro and ube, steaming the roots in-house to create a natural, creamy paste rather than using pre-mixes.

They are so committed to this that they actually have a display table of raw sweet potatoes and taro sitting right near the entrance.

The interior matches the menu, fully decked out in branded purple walls and checkered counters.

It has a playful, cute vibe with eclectic decor, including a Pink Panther print and vintage-style cabinets.

We ordered their signature Ube Milk via the self-serve kiosk.

The drink is visually striking, with thick swipes of ube paste coating the cup.

Instead of standard pearls, they top it with “Mini Taro Mochi”.

These little chew balls offer a softer texture than tapioca and pair perfectly with the earthy sweetness of the fresh taro.

Beyond the purple drinks, the menu also features Strawberry, Mango, and Blueberry Matchas, all using fresh local ingredients.

The shop is currently in its soft opening phase but is gearing up for a Grand Opening on December 20th.

On grand opening day, every purchase unlocks a lucky draw, which you could snag a free drink, BOGO deal, double points, free toppings or a new drink tasting card.

And Drinks now joins other recently opened food spots in Richmond like %Arabica Richmond, Pokey Okey, and Yang’s Dumpling.
