New Chinese Sweet Dessert Soup & Patisserie To Open In Richmond

A new dessert spot is on the horizon—and no, it’s not another bubble tea shop.

Spotted just a few doors down from Big Way Hot Pot on Ackroyd Road is signage for a brand new sweet destination called Myth Dessert & Patisserie.

Taking over a former homeware store, Myth is all decked out in green and poetic musings about slow living, sweet memories, and rediscovering joy through desserts.

We love a brand with a deep philosophy—especially when it ends with dessert.

The signage doesn’t give much away aside from vibes, but we did catch a few lines like “Good desserts take long” and “Sweet moments, served daily.”

There’s also mention of homemade sweet dessert soup made with love, so expect more traditional-style sweets rather than flashy cakes or soft serve towers.

We’re thinking tong sui or herbal dessert soups.

Or it could be more in line with the recently opened Dessert Artisanaux offering tofu and sago desserts.

Now, if the name “Myth” sounds familiar, it’s not just déjà vu.

There are already two restaurants nearby with “Myth” in their names—Myth Grill & Yakitori Bistro and Myth Szechuan Cuisine—both within walking distance.

Whether they’re all part of the same group or just vibing off the same name, it’s not completely clear yet.

But with Little Pisces also set to open in Richmond, the city’s dessert game might finally be expanding beyond bubble tea.

No shade to boba, but it’s nice to see more variety pop up—especially for post-dinner hangs or sweet midday pick-me-ups.

There’s no social media or website listed yet, so this one’s a bit of a mystery.

But you better believe we’ll be keeping an eye on it.
