A Mediterranean chain that has been expanding aggressively across Canada just planted its flag in downtown Vancouver.
Tahini’s Mediterranean Fusion is opening a new location at the corner of Richards Street and West Pender, with full signage and branding already up on the building.
If the name sounds familiar, we previously covered Tahini’s when the chain was spotted setting up its first Vancouver location along Renfrew Street, across from the Broadway Tech Centre.
That Renfrew location is still in progress.
This downtown spot appears to be moving at a similar pace, with the exterior looking close to ready but the interior still being finished out.
Tahini’s is a fast-growing franchise that started in London, Ontario, and has expanded to over 74 locations across Canada and US.
The menu is built around Mediterranean staples with a fusion twist.
You will find classic chicken shawarma wraps and bowls alongside more creative options like butter chicken shawarma, Jamaican jerk chicken shawarma, and Korean BBQ shawarma.
They also serve falafel, halloumi wraps, samosas, and poutine with a Middle Eastern spin.
Platters and family meals are available for larger groups.
Everything on the menu is halal, which adds another option for the halal dining crowd in downtown Vancouver.
Metro Vancouver has been seeing a wave of Tahini’s locations in recent months.
The chain has already opened in Surrey and North Vancouver, and the Renfrew and downtown locations will add two more to the city of Vancouver specifically.
No official opening date has been announced for the downtown location, but the amount of branding already up suggests they are not far off.
