Hot pot has undoubtedly been one of the top trending foods in Metro Vancouver over the past year.
The ongoing expansion of major chains like Big Way, Chocho, and Haidilao, along with the addition of new independent spots, is evidence of this craze.
The city is crazy for hot pot!
The trend shows no signs of stopping as we’ve discovered a new hot pot spot opening along Kingsway and 41st (across the London Drugs).
Although we knew about it for a while, it wasn’t until this month that we saw significant progress.
Yes, we’re talking about Super Thai Hotpot Restaurant, which will bring the warmth and vibrancy of Thailand right to your table.
Not much information is out about this restaurant except for the description by its design team, VR + Y Interiors.
According to their project description, the hot pot restaurant will celebrate the iconic Tom Yum broth, famous for its zesty, aromatic profile, crafted from the freshest Southeast Asian and local ingredients.
The interior design exudes a modern yet subtly luxurious vibe, characterized by a refreshing color palette of wood tones, metallics, and soothing blue-greens.
As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a bright and open space adorned with tropical plants, reminiscent of the lush rainforests of Southeast Asia.
Circular and oval glass partitions add a playful touch, enhancing comfort and creating a unique dining experience.
VR + Y Interiors is also the team behind the upcoming Richmond shabu shabu restaurant.
At the time of publishing, no official website or social media profiles are found for this Thai-style hot pot restaurant.
When we peeked through the open door, the interior looked around 45% complete.
It seems likely this spot will be complete by the end of November or early December.
This new addition joins what we call the “hot pot alley,” as a line of these spots stretches down Kingsway and past Metrotown.
