Frozen yogurt is making a comeback at one of Richmond’s biggest malls.
We spotted signs up inside CF Richmond Centre for a new Yogen Fruz location, spotted right beside GameStop on the mall’s upper level.
The bright blue and pink signage reads “blending something fresh” and features the brand’s signature frozen yogurt cups loaded with fruit.
If you have been missing froyo at Richmond Centre, this has been a long time coming.
If you remember, the mall previously had both a Qoola and a Pinkberry, two other frozen yogurt chains that have since closed.
That left a noticeable gap in the dessert options for anyone shopping in the area.
Yogen Fruz is now stepping in to fill it.
For those unfamiliar, Yogen Fruz is a Canadian frozen yogurt and smoothie chain that has been around since 1986.
It was founded by brothers Michael and Aaron Serruya in Thornhill, Ontario, and has since grown into a global franchise with over 1,400 locations in more than 47 countries.
The brand is known for its made-to-order frozen yogurt blended with fresh fruit and a rotating lineup of flavours and toppings.
In recent years, it has also added bubble tea and drinks.
In British Columbia, there are currently only a handful of locations still operating, including one at Metropolis at Metrotown and another at Tsawwassen Mills.
No official opening date has been announced yet, and there is no word on the menu or hours.
And the timing could not be better.
CF Richmond Centre has been quietly loading up on new food and drink spots, and the pipeline is stacked.
Breka is set to open a 24 hour location at the mall, which would be the popular chain’s first Richmond outpost.
Big Way Hot Pot is adding a third Richmond location inside the centre.
Marugame Udon, the massive Japanese udon chain with over a thousand locations worldwide, is also on its way.
Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba is planning a second Richmond location at the mall, expected to open in fall 2026.
And Unique Green, the Taiwanese tea brand from the team behind Sharetea, is opening its first Canadian location right inside Richmond Centre as well.
Yogen Fruz now joins that growing list.
