So the rumours were true.
The popular Hong Kong-style cafe stall that has been taking over food courts across Richmond is now making the jump to Burnaby.
One Cafe is opening a new location in the Crystal Mall food court, marking the chain’s first outpost outside of Richmond.
A “Coming Soon” sign for One Cafe is now up inside the food court.

The new stall is taking over the unit previously occupied by Mad Chicken.
Earlier in March, a sign outside Mad Chicken indicated the stall would be merging with its neighbour, New Beijing Flavor.
One Cafe, also known by its Chinese name 正斗, brands itself as “Hong Kong On The Go.”
The stall serves the kind of food you would find at a cha chaan teng in Hong Kong, including classics like satay beef noodle, baked pork chop on rice, beef brisket noodles, and all-day breakfast combos.
The brand first opened at Parker Place food court in Richmond back in 2023 and built a following for its affordable, no-fuss Hong Kong comfort food.

A second location followed at Empire Centre, and a third is also in the works at Lansdowne Centre food court, where it is taking over the unit previously occupied by Villa Vietnamese.
With Crystal Mall, One Cafe will have four locations, all of them in food court settings.
Crystal Mall food court is one of the busiest in Metro Vancouver, drawing a steady crowd of regulars for its wide mix of Asian food stalls.
Adding a dedicated Hong Kong-style cafe option fills a gap that many Burnaby locals have been looking for.
No opening date has been announced yet, but the Coming Soon signage and active construction suggest things are moving forward.
One Cafe now joins other upcoming food spots in Burnaby like Yinji Chang Fen and Tiramisu Republic.
