Japanese curry fans, listen up!
Oretachi Curry, a gem from the streets of Osaka, has quietly soft-opened its first North American location in Richmond’s Steveston Village on Friday November 24th.
The Oretachi Legacy
It all started in 2012. Mr. Sugimura opened the original Oretachi Curry in Namba, Osaka. His dedication to quality and taste quickly put Oretachi on the map.
After being hailed as “The best Curry in Osaka” on the popular TV show “YOUは何しに日本へ,” it became a must-visit spot for comforting Japanese curry dishes.
What makes their curry so special?
It’s the authentic Osaka-style Japanese Curry Rice and their unique Curry Ramen in prawn miso-based broth.
Their in-house curry is made with a blend of over 20 spices and herbs.
At their Steveston outpost, you can expect their delicious curry freshly made daily using local BC ingredients and ingredients imported straight from Japan.
Menu-wise, you’ll find over 15 different curry rice options ranging from the standard Pork Cutlet Curry to Cheese Aburi Curry to Natto Curry Katsu Curry.
To further personalize your curry rice, you can choose from various toppings, like poached egg, sausauge, natto; the size; and the spice level.
There are also 5 different Curry Ramens to try like Fried Prawn Ebi Miso Curry Ramen to Fried Oyster Ebi Miso Curry Ramen to Chicken Cutlet Ebi Miso Curry Ramen.
The Steveston location will be taking over the previous Five Rivers Meat Co. unit. The narrow space will no doubt reflect Osaka’s charm, promising a warm and cozy spot for all curry lovers.
According to their team, grand opening is set for December 2nd.
