One of Vancouver’s most loved tea rooms, Paragon Tea Room, is kicking off a special collab pop-up this week that aligns with Lantern Festival.
And if you love mochi rice balls (tang yuan), you’re going to want to be there.
Paragon is teaming up with Soupremier Eatery, a new brand putting a fun twist on traditional Asian desserts and pastries, to bring a four-day-only tang yuan special at their Richmond location
It will be going on from Wednesday to Saturday (Feb 12–15) only.
The limited-edition tang yuan lineup features two next-level lava-filled flavours:
- Black Sesame Matcha Lava
- Red Bean Hojicha Lava
These special mochi rice balls will be served in a fragrant osmanthus jasmine jujube soup.
It will make for the perfect sweet, warm treat to celebrate the Lantern Festival on Wednesday, February 12.
In Chinese tradition, people eat tang yuan during Lantern Festival because it symbolizes harmony, luck, and family unity.
During the pop-up, you’ll have two ways to try them:
- Dine-in Option: 3 pieces in a cup with sweet tea soup (perfect for a taste test before committing) – price TBD
- Take-Home Option: A frozen pack of 10 pieces (half matcha, half hojicha) plus the tea soup for $18, so you can enjoy them at home anytime.
Soup Premier will be at Paragon Richmond from 1-7 PM each day from Feb 12 – 15, selling these limited-edition tang yuan.
Protein Matcha Latte Taste Test Pop Up
Meanwhile, over at Paragon’s Cambie location, they’ll be holding a limited Suna Protein Matcha Taste Testing, where you can sample bubble tea with 20g+ protein and 10g marine collagen.
They call it as possibly the most nourishing version of bubble tea ever.
That is only happening on February 14th and 15th at their Cambie location.
This pop-up also comes at a bittersweet time for Paragon, as they recently announced the closure of their Cambie location at the end of February due to redevelopment.
They’re currently looking for a new spot to relocate to, so this could be one of your last chances to visit Paragon Cambie before they move.
So if you’re in the mood for a rich, toasty tang yuan experience or a high-protein matcha boost, Paragon’s got you covered this week.
