Remix Restaurant, known for its immersive LED displays and Northern Chinese cuisine, makes way for the popular Vietnamese pho spot, Pho 37.
Yep – you’re not tripping – there’s already a Pho 37 a few steps down from Remix. Here’s what we know…
What Happened to Remix Restaurant?
Remix Restaurant, which took over the former TeamLab Restaurant, was a similar attempt to woo customers with a spectacle of lights and interactive displays.
Despite its unique concept and glowing washroom doors, it seems the restaurant couldn’t find its footing in Richmond’s competitive food scene.
Recently, our community spotted a “Pho 37 COMING SOON” sign outside the Remix Restaurant, signalling the end of one culinary journey and the “start” of another.
Who is Pho 37?
Pho 37 is a beloved Vietnamese restaurant, known for its authentic noodle soup and rice dishes. They have 3 locations throughout Metro Vancouver.
Pho 37’s menu is simple and ordinary, with common Vietnamese dishes you’d find at most pho spots. But its quality and consistency is what gets people back to Pho 37.
One standout item is also their specialty item #37: Tuan’s Special Beef Noodle Soup – a smoky beef broth with a poached egg.
What’s Next for the Remix Restaurant Space?
With a unit already bustling with customers in Union Square Shopping Centre, the former Remix Restaurant unit is currently undergoing renovations to accommodate Pho 37.
The new location no doubt promises more seating, which should help alleviate the regular queues seen at their Union Square Shopping Centre unit during prime dinner time and weekends.
As of now, there’s no official word on when the new Pho 37 location will open or what will happen to the current unit in Union Square Shopping Centre.
