Remember back in February when we told you Pokey Okey was closing its Richmond and Burnaby Kingsway locations?
Yeah, about that…it looks like they weren’t kidding about a future return, and it might be sooner (and closer) than we thought.
We spotted signage for a brand new Pokey Okey setting up shop on Kingsway, but this time in Vancouver by Nanaimo Street just a few blocks from the T&T Supermarket!
This new spot is taking over the unit that used to be O’Pizza.
And judging by the signage, this isn’t just the Pokey Okey we knew.
They’re teasing an expanded menu featuring Poke, Katsu, AND Gyudon. Notably, it is 3 different brands under one roof that gives the signal of it being sort of a cloud kitchen-esque type of set up.
Naturally, we had to peek inside.
The windows reveal a space with a cool manga and Japanese-inspired theme.
We’re talking a feature wall covered in manga panels featuring heavy hitters like Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen, Anya from Spy x Family, and even One Punch Man.
Although we spotted this location earlier this month, it looks like as we publish this, Pokey Okey’s official Instagram has finally added this Kingsway location to its profile.
But nothing quite yet advertising it.
So, while the brand sadly closed its previous Burnaby spot just months ago (along with the Richmond one), it seems they were already planning this Kingsway comeback.
Have you spotted this new Pokey Okey?
