It looks like another local fave might be changing hands – or worse, disappearing altogether.
Dolpan Seoul BBQ, the longtime Korean BBQ restaurant located inside Richmond’s Continental Shopping Centre, has been spotted up for sale.
Dolpan originally opened its doors in December 2016 and brought with it a style of Korean BBQ that’s distinct from the norm.
“Dolpan” means “stone plate,” and here, meats are grilled on a pan rather than over an open flame.
The menu’s focus has always been fresh, non-marinated meats alongside fan-faves like Korean Army Stew, spicy rice cakes, and other comforting hits.
Locals loved it for its portions, bold flavours, and a vibe that was always lively.
The listing confirms that the location is licensed for liquor and features eight tables set up for interactive dining, making it perfect for Korean BBQ or hot pot.
According to the commercial listing, the 1,570 sq. ft. space is being offered for $298,000 and comes fully equipped with a commercial kitchen, built-in table vents, walk-in cooler and freezer, and even a mezzanine for extra food prep or storage space.
But here’s the catch: there’s no word on whether the eventual buyer will keep the Dolpan concept or pivot entirely to something new.
It’s another potentially bittersweet shift in Richmond’s ever-evolving food scene.
And if Dolpan does close or transform, it’ll join the ranks of other recently lost faves in Richmond like Suhang, Shanghai Morning, and Wheat Bread Bakery.
