Another Quiet Closure Spotted in Downtown Vancouver

It looks like another quiet exit has hit the streets of Downtown Vancouver.

For the past month, both our team and the Noms Magazine community have noticed that Brathaus in Gastown has kept its lights off during regular operating hours.

While there has been no official “goodbye” post, the writing is literally on the window.

A “For Lease” sign has appeared above the storefront, signaling the end for the gourmet sausage shop.

Currently, the restaurant is tagged as “Temporarily Closed” on Google, but the leasing signage and the state of the interior suggest a more permanent departure.

Social media channels for the brand have also gone dark, with no updates posted since November 2025.

Brathaus had a relatively short but flavourful run, having opened back in mid-2024.

The concept was simple but elevated: high-quality German-style brats using premium local ingredients.

They were known for adventurous options like Smokey Bison, Lamb, Chorizo, and Beef Guinness sausages.

Fans loved the over-the-top toppings like the Guinness Beef topped with guac, bacon, and pickled onions and sides like soft-baked pretzels and milkshakes.

The closure adds to a string of recent losses in Vancouver’s dining scene. Brathaus joins other recently shuttered spots including Qieu Cafe, Ramen Kounotori, and Onezo Tapioca.
