Burnaby’s Metrotown area is buzzing with stellar food spots.
From top hot pot joints to popular chains like Tendon Kohaku, Earls, and the upcoming MACU Tea, there’s always something new to try.
The Crystal Mall food court is also a hotspot for xiao long bao and other tasty Asian eats.
Now, we’ve got exciting news for foodies in the area.
On Chinese social media, a user (大丁) spotted Richmond’s popular Hei Hei Rice Roll making its entrance into Crystal Mall Food Court.
Hei Hei Rice Roll is celebrated for having some of the best Canton-style rice rolls in Richmond.
They opened in the Richmond Public Market back in 2021 and have been a hit ever since, often with a 40-minute wait for their thin, fresh, and delicious rice rolls.
Their menu boasts around 20 different options, including Beef, Pork and Shrimp Rice Rolls, Black Truffle Seafood Rice Rolls, and Mushroom and Pork Rice Rolls.
Aside from their stone-ground rice rolls, they also offer congee, classic Chinese drinks, and desserts like black sesame pudding and fermented rice soy drink.
The new Burnaby location will take over the previous Japanese Kagusa stall in the food court.
While there’s no details yet about the opening date, it’s safe to assume that they’ll offer the same delicious items as their Richmond counterpart.
Although there’s already a rice roll stall in the Crystal Mall food court, Hei Hei’s entrance will surely excite Burnaby locals.
