Looks like there is more bad news for a Richmond-based Asian snack shop, as yet again, they have shut down a location.
Daruma, the Japanese snack shop inside the Tsawwassen Mills mall, closed on December 31, 2025, after shoppers spotted a clearance notice and shared it on Chinese social media.
Out front, the store’s screen doubled down with “Store Clearance,” saying all items were discounted, with deals up to 60% off.

Daruma at Tsawwassen Mills was also the brand’s biggest swing, a massive 3,000-square-foot store that was widely described as its largest location.
That size meant the shelves felt endless, even when you told yourself you were “just browsing.”
It also meant range, from familiar staples like Tokyo Banana to cheese desserts, Tamago Honpo chocolate eggs, flower butter cookies, and premium Japanese fruit.

The closure stings more because it lands in the middle of a wider retreat for the brand, which started off in Richmond in 2022.
Earlier in 2025, Daruma shut down both of its Richmond locations after running a clearance sale, cutting off two stops for hard-to-find treats.
Then, in November 2025, Daruma’s planned Kerrisdale shop was effectively canceled, with its “coming soon” moment turning into an empty unit.
So this Tsawwassen Mills goodbye does feel like another door closing in a short span of time.

Right now, we are watching to see what comes next for that space at the mall, and what Daruma’s next move is, if any.
While Daruma’s Tsawwassen Mills shop closes, it now joins a growing list of Metro Vancouver food and drink spots that have recently shut their doors, including Dinesty Dumpling House, Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar, and Sulbing (Robson).
