Richmond locals are well aware of Car’s Dessert, a hidden gem located in the second-floor food court of Pacific Plaza.
You’ll often see people lining up even before it opens to enjoy their delicious traditional Hong Kong desserts, such as mango and durian mochis, baked sago puddings, and mango pomelo sago pudding.
We got a tip from our community member that Car’s Dessert is gearing up to serve its delicious treats from a new address.
The husband and wife duo opened up Car’s Dessert amidst the pandemic in 2021 and seems to have now outgrown their food court stall.
In a recent announcement shared on March 14th in their private Facebook group, Car’s Dessert revealed plans to relocate to a building beside Aberdeen Canada Line Skytrain Station, at 110-4140 No. 3 Rd.
They’ll be taking over a previous bakery and cake shop called MOK Cake, which opened up in summer 2023.
According to the announcement post, the new location is expected to open in April.
Those wishing for dine-in and seating will be disappointed as it will operate similar to other Chinese bakeries: take-out only.
But at least there is a parking lot!
For now, the exact dates for Car’s last day at Pacific Plaza and the grand opening at the new location have yet to be announced.
