Richmond’s food court scene is shaking things up, and it looks like another local favourite is making a big move!
We spotted a notice at Snack King Eatery, a well-loved food stall in Pacific Plaza, announcing that they’re upgrading to a full dine-in restaurant in Union Square!
This 4.7-star rated stall has been our go-to spot for affordable and delicious hand-pulled beef noodles for the past two years.
It’s one of the few places where you can still snag a bowl for just $11.
They’ve also won fans over with their Xi’an steamed cold noodles and steamed buns.
After more than eight years of service, it seems the team is ready for the next chapter.
According to the notice, Snack King Eatery will be taking a short break as they prepare for their first dine-in restaurant space.
They’re set to take over the recently closed Deer Garden unit in Union Square, with a grand opening planned for mid-September.
The notice, written in Chinese, reads:
“Dear customers,
We will be taking a break starting August 19 to prepare for our new location. The new restaurant will be named ‘寻秦记·大明家’ and is expected to open in mid-September. We look forward to welcoming everyone then!
New location: #1213-8388 Capstan Way, Richmond (Union Square)
Contact number: 778-855-2861 / 604-362-4442
Thank you for your understanding and support! We wish you happiness!
—大明家”
With Snack King’s move, Pacific Plaza’s food court will feel even emptier, especially after the departure of Car’s Dessert.
But Richmond locals can look forward to enjoying Snack King Eatery’s beloved dishes in a more spacious, sit-down setting soon!
