Popular Richmond Hong Kong-Style Cafe Food Stall Expands With New Location

Richmond’s food court scene continues to change.

While we recently said goodbye to James Snacks after more than two decades in Empire Centre Food Court, a new stall has opened in the food court.

One Café, a Hong Kong-style café stall that first opened in Parker Place Food Court in 2023, has now soft opened its second location in Empire Centre.

Empire Centre Food Court is known for its hidden gem status, primarily frequented by Richmond locals.

According to their Instagram, the expansion is all about serving more neighbourhoods in Richmond.

And if you’ve ever had the pleasure of trying their food at Parker Place, you’ll know this is excellent news.

So, what’s on the menu?

One Café’s Empire Centre stall features some of the fan favourites from its Parker Place counterpart, but there are differences.

Both locations serve classic Hong Kong-style café dishes like Baked Pork Chop on Rice and Beef Brisket Noodles, as well as similar All-Day Breakfast Noodle Combos featuring items like Satay Beef and Spicy Pork Cube.

You can still upgrade these combos with a drink and egg toast.

What’s unique to Empire Centre, though, is the addition of the Stirred Nissin Noodle Combos, offering options like Pork Cartilage in Swiss Sauce or Pan-Fried Pork Chop with Shallot & Onion Oil.

The green and red-themed menu at Empire Centre feels fresh yet familiar, offering a nice variety for those seeking comforting HK café fare.

The prices are still super reasonable—perfect for locals looking for tasty meals without breaking the bank.

For instance, our satay beef noodle with an ice lemon tea only cost $9.50.

Meanwhile, the cloud matcha drink at the new HeyTea that we got afterwards is $9.99.

But One Cafe isn’t the only spot offering Hong Kong-style café food in this food court.

Last year, Cha Kee launched its sister stall, Cha Don, right in Empire Centre.

This means locals now have even more choices to satisfy their cravings for baked spaghetti or satay beef with noodles.

Alongside One Café, you’ll find favorites like Cloud 9 Delicacy, Prataman Express, and Riceholic.

It’s a spot worth exploring—but be warned, it gets pretty busy!
