The wait for Richmond’s favourite poke is officially over.
After closing their Anderson Street location earlier this year, Pokey Okey has returned to Richmond.
We spotted the team soft opening their brand new location today, directly across from CF Richmond Centre.
This marks their third location in Metro Vancouver.

But this isn’t just a simple reopening.
They have launched a “mini food hall” concept that houses three distinct Japanese-inspired brands under one roof.
We sneaked in for lunch today to see how the new space stacks up.
The interior is vibrant, spacious, and far livelier than their previous takeout-focused spot.

The Pokey Okey section is impossible to miss, anchored by a glowing pink checkered sign and neon lights.
The menu brings back their customizable bowls locals have missed, featuring massive scoops of spicy tuna, crab meat, and corn.

If you aren’t in the mood for raw fish, the hall will soon have an Oishinoya as well.
This is their sister brand known for comforting Japanese beef rice bowls (Gyudon).
The seating area is designed for community, featuring a large wooden bar and plenty of tables for groups.
There is also a third concept called Nonbiri Cafe is located on the far right side.
While Pokey Okey is open now, the cafe is currently in its final renovations.
Signage indicates that Nonbiri will begin its soft opening tomorrow, December 14th, serving organic ceremonial grade matcha.
However, there is one specific feature here that makes group lunches way easier.

Once all three shops are fully open, you won’t have to line up at three different counters.
The hall features a “universal kiosk” system down the hall from the entrance.

This allows you to order food and drinks from all three spots in a single transaction.
It is perfect for those indecisive moments when one person wants coffee, another wants beef, and you want poke.
For those who want the full experience, the team has set the official Grand Opening for all three brands on December 20th.

This opening adds some serious weight to the neighbourhood’s food scene.
They join a list of recent openings in Richmond including % Arabica and Yang’s Dumpling.
