If you’ve spent any time in Richmond, you’ve probably wandered into Pacific Plaza for a bowl of laksa from Gee! Taste Good.
It’s the beloved Southeast Asian food court stall that’s been holding it down for over 25 years.
Well, big news: the team behind Gee! Taste Good just launched a new concept stall right next door called Malaya Kitchen.

Taking over the former Big Chef Kitchen unit, this new venture marks a fresh chapter for the longtime food court favourite.
The announcement quietly dropped last week via a Google post from Gee! Taste Good, where they teased the weeklong closure to prep for the new launch.
But this isn’t just a clone of their original menu.
Malaya Kitchen expands the offerings to include traditional Singaporean breakfast staples and snacks, like kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, and local-style cakes and desserts.
It’s their way of giving loyal customers even more ways to enjoy the nostalgic flavours of Singapore and Malaysia.
We first found out about Malaya Kitchen thanks to Eva in a Chinese foodie Facebook group, who posted about the surprise stall.
And when we visited (anonymously as usual), we had a bit of a lightbulb moment – there was the Gee! Taste Good boss lady, now behind the scenes at Malaya Kitchen.
We tried their B Breakfast Set, which features a comforting bowl of Soto Chicken with rice vermicelli in broth, paired with kaya toast and a soft-boiled egg (yup, the jiggly, half-cooked kind served with a dash of soy sauce and white pepper).
On that scorching hot day, we also tacked on an iced lemon tea for $1.50, which was absolutely the move.
If you’ve had Gee! Taste Good’s soup noodles before, you’ll recognize that same familiar flavour profile in the soup—bold, fragrant, and deeply satisfying.
Pacific Plaza’s food court has been in a bit of a slump recently, with fewer stalls and less foot traffic.
But between Wasan Cafe and now Malaya Kitchen, things are starting to feel lively again.
Malaya Kitchen now joins other fresh Richmond food arrivals like Wasan Cafe, Yaohan’s Cha Don, and Mantung Cafe.
